Imagine a
city considered sacred and holy throughout India’s

will see all these in Kanchipuram.
About a hour's drive from Chennai along the
almost perfect NH4 highway that goes to
Bangalore, Kanchipuram is easily accessible and
ideal for a day trip. It is also well connected
by bus if you prefer not to drive
Kanchipuram is filled with temples and you will be
left to wonder what to visit and what to give a
miss. A good start will be the most famous ones and
then plan s to cover the others. When you are here,
make sure you also visit at least one silk weaving
factory or a small home-based weaving center. Silk
sarees from kanchi are reputed to be the best in
the whole of India
